- This is a 10 to 15 year..(or more) commitment. Consider these essential questions before you welcome a new pet into your home:
- -Are you allowed to have a pet where you live now?
- -If you move, will you take this pet/s with you?
- -Do you understand that a pet is a 10 to 15 year commitment?
- -Do you know the cost of supplies, feeding and proper vet care?
- -Do you have a plan for vacations, emergencies and a safe place for them to go if something happens to you or your home?
- -Do you understand that pets need proper training and sometimes negative behaviors need to be worked through?
- -Do you have the time to truly commit to this animal?
- Please carefully considered these questions before you complete the adoption application.
When adopting young kittens, it is best to Adopt 2 kittens If you do not have an existing young cat already.
Do your research. One of the most important ways you can support the behavioral and emotional development of a kitten is to make sure they have a friend. Despite the common belief that cats are solitary animals, they’re actually incredibly social beings who thrive when they have a feline friends from an early age. That’s why we always recommend adopting two kittens, or adopting a solo kitten only if you already have another young cat in the home for the kitten to befriend.
